Arturia announce their new addition to the Augmented series, a collection of software instruments that modernize traditional instruments by revitalizing their sound, offering interesting and unique results. The Augmented Brass instrument combines sampled chamber and orchestral brass sounds with synth engines and modulation capabilities.
The result is a unique blend of traditional and contemporary sound design. The instrument features a great range of sounds to explore with 11 articulations of Orchestral Brass and 16 articulations of Chamber Brass. Additionally, there are 15 processed Brass sounds and 15 additional sounds that feature brass-esque tones. With this extensive collection of brass sounds, composers and producers have immediate access to an unmatched range of traditional, cinematic and contemporary Brass sounds.
The morphing capability is a unique feature of the Augmented Brass instrument, it morphs between the real and the unreal. The expression through 7 macros and the importance of the playability of the keyboard (Velocity, Aftertouch, Mod Wheel) allows for a huge range of timbres within each preset. Some presets to suss out include Wide and Proud, Staccato Tension, Falling, Rise Mac Queen, Hommage, Reverse Flutter, Certain Doom, Logos Cluster, Growly Horn, and Doomed Hero.
Augmented Brass also features a new engine with approximately 80 sounds and over 100 presets, bringing ambience, texture, cinematic impacts and more into the sound design of the instrument. The panning has been expanded, allowing each part to be panned individually for interesting stereo movement when using the morph knob. The instrument also has individual assignments for the vibrato and tremolo, allowing each part to have its own modulation.
