One of the most exciting things we saw at NAMM 2019 was Blackstar’s new range of HT amplifiers. In the world of small amps, we have found the HT-20 to be one of the most feature-packed amps out there.
The new Blackstar HT-20 MkII is rebuilt from the ground up. It features a carefully voiced pre-amp, paired with EL84 valves in the power section to give players a classic British tone. This amp offers tones from boutique style cleans and classic crunch to a huge, saturated distortion. The Power Reduction switch allows you to take 20 watts down to just 2, without compromising on tone and response. And the built-in studio quality reverb is quite reminiscent of popular and expensive pedals we see on the market, making this the perfect home and studio amp.
Other features include:
- 20 Watt head
- 2x ECC83 preamp valves
- 2x EL84 power amp valves
- 2 Channels
- Footswitchable Voices for Clean and Overdrive
- Power reduction to 2 Watts
- USB audio out
- XLR D.I. Out
- Newly voiced studio quality reverb
- 2-button footswitch included
- Unique tilt-back design head
Blackstar have made a name for themselves from their clever amp designs. They’re renowned for giving guitarists big, valve tones at small volumes and features every player will find useful. We’re happy to report that the HT-20 MkII is no exception! Check out our demo below:
