An 84hp Eurorack case with plenty of power, inbuilt two channel MIDI to CV converter and 55mm of depth for US$199? How is this possible? I don’t know but a new US company called Cre8audio is doing it as of 12 hours ago.
Their appropriately named NiftyCASE looks like an astonishing bargain. Aside from the 84hp width NiftyCASE features ample +12v 1500mA, -12v 500mA and +5v 500mA power for your modules. It will also take Din MIDI or USB MIDI and turn it into eurorack compatible CV, gate, mod, and clock. Plus, it has MIDI thru and two modular level audio outputs that get summed to a single line-level output on the back of the case. It’s just so damn nifty.
As well as the NiftyCASE, Crea8Audio have introduced two modules: Chipz and Cellz. They describe Chipz as “heaping piles of beeps, blops, and probably some other stuff too. It’s got a couple voices and some wacky LFO junk, perfect for getting your body wobbling.” and Cellz as “a funky module you can use as a controller or a wacky sequencer.”
They’re doing an introductory bundle deal at the moment, US$269 for the lot, which is quite frankly hard to believe. Hopefully a shipping container of these make their way to Australia so we can all dodge lame international shipping costs.
