In the ever-evolving scene of new synths being announced, it’s comforting to know that there are manufacturers who continue to look at ways of enhancing their current catalogue of products. This is especially true with KORG, who have announced significant updates to the prologue, and KROSS 2 synths and their Volca series of music production machines.
The 2.0 prologue system update includes microtuning and MIDI aftertouch support, upgraded arpeggiator features, wet/dry mix control processing, and more. Also, fresh main characteristics and functions have been added to the prologue Sound Librarian. There is also a KORG prologue 2.0 update installation tutorial video available to assist with the process (see below).
KORG has also released a new sound set for the KROSS 2 synth which contains the extra “Future Classic” features which were uncovered in the Kross2 Neon Limited Edition. Included are new PCM and contemporary music-oriented sounds, together with fresh pianos, electric pianos, drum kits and much more.
In addition, it is now possible to update ten of the eleven Volca models to offer users more control over the Audio Sync characteristics of KORG.
