Just when we thought we were done wrapping up all the Korg announcements from NAMM 2021, Korg have dropped a host of new product teasers on us (not that we’re complaining). Although details are sparse there’s plenty to get excited about including a new drum machine, upgraded 61 key wavestate with aftertouch and a VR DAW (!).
Drumlogue – Hybrid Drum Machine
Here’s the official descriptions from Korg and teaser videos:
- The drumlogue is a hybrid analog/digital groovebox that is currently under development
- A combination of powerful raw analog parts and flexible digital voices for a wide sound spectrum
- Intuitive hands-on control for quick editing as well as a dedicated librarian for easy patch and sequence management
- Supports KORG ‘logue SDK Multi-Engine plugin oscillators
Wavestate SE Synthesizer
- 61-key version of current 37-key wavestate now with aftertouch
- New internal programs added, all sound programs optimized for aftertouch
- Reworked case with premium aluminum panel and knobs
Korg GADGET-VR
Have you ever found yourself wishing for the instruments in Korg’s Gadget app to be made into hardware? Well this is close! A VR version of Korg’s Gadget is coming to a headset near you. This is a bold move from Korg, and the first time a major hardware music gear brand has given VR a go. Details are light on, but worth noting the demo appears to be using the Oculus Quest 2 headset.
