KORG has announced KORG Gadget 3, the latest version of its all-in-one production suite. Renowned for its quirky versatility in music production, offering an extensive suite of features to elevate your music-making. The software includes over 40 synthesizers and drum machines, known as “gadgets,” that can be combined freely, driven by a powerful and user-friendly interface.
The latest iteration, KORG Gadget 3, introduces two new gadgets, Santa Ana (Guitar) and Sydney (Sampler), along with five new insert effects (IFX), including an 8-Band EQ, Stereo Imager, Transient Shaper, and more. The software boasts a new genre-select system, facilitating song creation based on preferred patterns. Additionally, it now supports VST3 and AUv3, enhancing compatibility with various music applications.
Refreshed user interface and everything you need…KORG
The user interface has undergone improvements, refining the Gadget Browser, IFX page, and Play page for increased intuitiveness. The sound browser enables a quick selection of gadgets by timbre, while the Play page features an easy-to-use arpeggiator and chord entry.
You won’t be short of inspiration with its extensive Gadget Instrument Collection, offering over 6,000 sound programs. I really like the new Genre Select function that allows users to craft songs by combining favourite patterns, and the IFX features a revamped interface with graphical displays for EQ, Compression, and other adjustments. I can see these helping users lay down ideas quickly and easily without too much menu diving or hassle.
Noteworthy additions include the “Gadget Browser” for efficient sound search, an enhanced “Play Page” with an improved scale menu, and the capability to select gadgets based on timbre. The software’s compatibility has expanded with AUv3 support on iOS, enabling integration with other apps like GarageBand.

As part of the update, KORG Gadget 3 now supports AUv3 on iOS, allowing gadget instruments to be used most major DAWs such as Garageband and Logic Pro. The new features and gadgets, including “Santa Ana” for rhythm guitar and “Sydney” for sample manipulation, contribute to making KORG Gadget 3 a more powerful tool for music production.
The software is available across multiple platforms, including iOS, Mac, Plug-ins for Mac/PC, Nintendo Switch, and even VR devices. With its ability to seamlessly share ideas across devices, KORG Gadget 3 remains a great solution for music creators seeking a versatile and different production tool.
