MPC Beats – Akai Release a New Free Beat Making Software

Browse By

Akai has released MPC Beats, a new beat making software studio designed around the famous MPC hardware workflow for free download. It comes with a 2GB sample library of loops, one-shots and built-in virtual instruments to get you started, plus you can install MPC Beats artist Expansion packs to juice up your sample library. There’s also plenty of genre-specific project templates for hip-hop, Trap and EDM to kick start your tracks.

The software has 16-pads for triggering drum samples and loops, a piano roll for recording MIDI notes plus a sample editor for chopping audio up samples. MPC Beats also lets you connect any class-compliant controller for hands-on beat making plus there’s a range of pre-mapped templates of popular controller models. You also get plenty of audio FX, VST/AU compatibility, 8 MIDI tracks and 2 channels of audio recording if you want to record your voice or lay-down an instrument over your beat. If you’re using a DAW like Ableton Live or Logic (or any others) MPC Beats will work as a plug-in within these DAW environments allowing you to bring your projects directly into you’re session. Not Bad for free right?
