With NAMM 2018 just under a week away, we take a look at some exciting PRE-NAMM 2018 guitar previews and releases…
Martin Guitars – Standard Series Reimagined
This is the biggest overhaul of a guitar series Martin have ever produced. The ‘Reimagined Standard Series’ delves into Martin’s rich history taking inspiration from guitars introduced in the 1930’s onwards. Continuing with visual hallmarks of Martin’s ‘golden era’ the series still delivers world class woods and high end Fishman electronics.
Chris Martin recently wrote…
“I challenged my coworkers to help me with the significant task of modernizing guitars whose origin go back to the 1930s (and earlier).” said Chris. “As you might imagine, the discussions were quite animated. Fortunately, we all knew we were working toward a common goal; how can we modernize traditional Martin Guitar models while continuing to honor our rich history and heritage? Well, together we met that challenge head on and the results far exceeded my expectations.”
Fender – Offset Meteora
A 70’s style Jaguar vibe can be picked up by this upcoming model from Fender. Block inlays, maple neck and 70’s headstock combine with a very ‘Telecaster’ pickup selection delivering an Avant-garde approach from Fender (Which is generally unheard of..) No official statements or previews have been placed by Fender as of yet, watch this space!
ESP LTD – Kirk Hammett Purple Sparkle
ESP LTD have just recently released their offering for 2018 including the latest Kirk Hammett signature in striking Purple Sparkle. The sparkle finish has appeared throughout a number of ESP LTD signatures in the 2018 range and even a Japanese E2 Eclipse adorns a sparkle paint job. Kirk’s signature Bone Breaker EMG’s can be found on the new 602, the first LTD signature to have these installed! The Metallica signature models are amongst the most sought after in Australia from the ESP range, these guitars land Feb 2018.
