Jeeze Louise what a beast! – Pioneer DJ have announced a new behemoth 6 channel DJ mixer, packing 4-band EQ, compression and FX send control per channel, a redesigned filter section and 3 band Isolator on the master. Holy smokes!
The DJM-V10 isn’t your average DJ mixer, offering high-end features designed for a more expansive DJ performance – think combining synths, samplers and drum machines alongside turntables and CDJs (Ritchie Hawtin much?) Each channel has extensive send control for combining external FX or sound modules and the selectable HPF/LPF filter has been redesigned giving you resonance control.
The 6 channels feature 4-band EQ (low, low-mid, hi-mid, hi) for “sculpting” your sound and compression for adding some extra punch, plus there’s and added 3-band EQ on the master stage with a kill switch. The mixer FX retains most of the FX that Pioneer are known for, except for a new “shimmer” beat effect, plus the send FX section has added 4 built-in send return FX (short delay, long delay, dub echo and reverb.
A few extra notable features on first glance are the low/hi EQ control on the booth output, dual headphone outputs with independent monitoring (for when your DJing with ya best mate on stage) and Traktor Pro 3, Rekordbox and Serato Pro DVS integration.
It should be noted that DJM-V10 is the first Pioneer mixer to be powered by the digital ESS Technology, 32-bit D/A Converters, so fans of the Model: One and Allen & Heath mixers may not be ready to jump ship just yet, nevertheless, Pioneer sure have made a splash with this one.
