NAMM 2026 wrapped nearly a month ago, but some releases have stuck in players’ minds long after the show floor went quiet, like these two unashamedly old school offerings from Orange Amplification.
Guitar modelers are incredible. Neural DSP, Kemper, Fractal and the rest offer huge versatility, easy portability and tones that are frighteningly close to the real thing. In studios and fly‑rigs, they solve a lot of practical problems.
But even with all that tech, there’s still something irreplaceable about plugging into a real valve amp or standing in front of a proper bass cab. Analogue rigs react to your playing in a way modelling can’t quite simulate. There’s weight to the attack, a sense of movement, and in the case of bass — a physical push that you simply don’t get when you’re sending a clean DI signal into a PA.
That’s the space the Orange OR60 and OBC215 comfortably occupy pure analogue gear built for players who want a physical, connected experience on stage and in the studio.
OR60 Valve Head — Modern Orange Punch, Classic Simplicity
The OR60 is Orange’s most versatile single-channel head to date. Built in the UK and powered by a pair of 6L6 valves, it delivers 60 watts of tight low end, plenty of clarity, and the kind of harmonic density that makes boost pedals sound huge rather than harsh.
Despite being a one-channel design, it’s packed with thoughtful controls. Presence and Resonance work together to shape the power section, letting you tailor the amp to your cab, room or playing style. Presence enhances cut, while Resonance controls the low-end “thump” that defines the overall feel of the amp.

Low-End Control With the Resonance Dial
The Resonance control is especially useful for players switching between genres. Cranked, it creates a blooming, vintage-style low end. Dialled right back, the OR60 becomes tight and focused, perfect for modern high-gain rhythm work. It’s a feature that gives the amp a surprising amount of flexibility without overcomplicating the front panel.
Brightness at the Flick of a Switch
The Bright switch subtly lifts the top end without altering the gain structure. Humbucker users or darker-voiced guitars benefit instantly, gaining extra clarity and snap. Turn it off and the amp leans warmer and smoother. It’s a small detail with a large sonic footprint.

Footswitchable Dual Volume Control
One of the smartest inclusions is the footswitchable second volume. It lets players switch between rhythm and lead levels without resorting to boost pedals or changing gain structure. In a live mix, this is gold — clean, simple and effective.
With a valve-buffered FX loop and a switchable 60W/30W mode, the OR60 gives players a focused, high-voltage valve tone that works as well in a treated studio room as it does on a loud stage.

OBC215 — The Feel-It-in-Your-Chest Cab
While guitar modelling has made massive strides, bass still tends to reveal the gap between digital rigs and real air. Running a modeller straight into a PA can sound good, but it doesn’t deliver the chest‑hit, room‑shaking presence a big bass cab provides. The OBC215 does exactly that — and then some.
Designed for bassists who want the physical impact of dual 15-inch speakers without hauling two individual cabs, the OBC215 pairs two Celestion Pulse 15s inside a dual‑chamber, front‑ported design. Each speaker sits in its own isolated chamber, tuned for depth, articulation and a wide horizontal spread.

Dual-Chamber, Front-Ported Power
By keeping the chambers separated, Orange avoids the muddy low end that can happen when two large drivers interact in a single shared space. Each chamber has its own front port, giving the cab a deep, warm and controlled bottom end with a wide throw across the stage.
Two OBC115s, One Cab
Tonally and from a design standpoint, the OBC215 behaves like a pair of OBC115s working together — same drivers, similar tuning — but packaged in a more manageable form. It originated from touring artists who loved stacking two 115s but hated the load-in.

Massive Sound, Manageable Weight
Built from 18 mm birch ply, the cab is rugged but thoughtfully equipped: grab handles on the sides and back, Speakon combi-jacks for simplicity, a full-length grille, and fitted casters to keep its size from becoming a burden. It’s still a big‑feeling rig — just far easier to move than two separate boxes.
Available in Orange and Black
Both the OR60 and OBC215 come in the classic Orange finish or a stealthy black option, rounding out a pair of releases that put feel, immediacy and physicality back into the modern stage rig.

The Orange OR60 and OB215C will be available in Australia from April 2026, contact these Orange dealers for price and chance to experience them firsthand. https://linktr.ee/orangeampsaustralia
