The RANE SYSTEM ONE just levelled up. With Engine OS 4.6.0, RANE’s motorised standalone DJ system now integrates seamlessly with Serato DJ Pro – letting DJs move between standalone media, streaming, and full Serato performance features without breaking the flow.
Key Features
- OmniSource lets each deck play from Serato DJ Pro, local media, or streaming simultaneously
- Full touchscreen Serato DJ Pro control directly from the SYSTEM ONE display
- Access to Serato expansions including Stems, Pitch Play, Scratch Bank and Serato Video
- Split Pad mode allows two pad modes at once on Serato-enabled decks
- Internal FX and Serato software FX both available with BPM sync
There’s always been a quiet tension in DJ setups. Do you go standalone for stability and flexibility, or tether yourself to a laptop for the creative power of software? With Engine OS 4.6.0, the RANE SYSTEM ONE makes that question feel almost irrelevant.
This update brings deep, hardware-level integration with Serato DJ Pro, and it doesn’t feel bolted on. It feels considered. When you connect a computer running Serato DJ Pro, the software appears directly on the SYSTEM ONE touchscreen as a selectable source. No awkward switching, no workflow gymnastics. Just tap and go.
OmniSource: True Multi-Source DJing
At the heart of this update is RANE’s OmniSource architecture. The SYSTEM ONE was already designed to mix from USB drives, SD cards, internal storage (if installed), and streaming services like Apple Music, Beatport, TIDAL and SoundCloud. Now, Serato DJ Pro joins that ecosystem as just another selectable source.
The important detail? Each deck can run from a different source simultaneously.
You could have a Serato crate running on Deck 1 while Deck 2 pulls from a USB stick. Or a streaming track on one side and a laptop-driven Stem routine on the other. For mobile DJs, club residents, or open-format performers, that flexibility is huge. It removes the “all in or all out” commitment that’s traditionally come with laptop integration.
Touchscreen Control That Actually Makes Sense
The integration goes beyond transport control. DJs can browse Serato crates directly from the SYSTEM ONE display, sort by BPM or key, zoom waveforms, swipe to load tracks, and adjust key sync – all from the hardware itself.
Waveform orientation can even be matched within the SYSTEM ONE layout manager, keeping the visual language consistent between standalone and Serato sources. It sounds like a small thing, but in a live set, visual continuity helps keep you locked in.

As Sam Greengrass, Hardware Product Lead at Serato, explains:
“What makes the Rane SYSTEM ONE unique is the ability to mix between multiple sources seamlessly. It delivers standalone freedom with the creative power DJs expect from Serato.”
That balance is exactly what makes this update interesting.
Stems, Pads and Performance Features – Fully Unlocked
Once a Serato DJ Pro track is loaded, the SYSTEM ONE’s pads automatically shift into Serato-specific performance modes. That means instant access to Serato Stems, Pitch Play and Scratch Bank without digging through menus.
Split Pad mode lets you access two pad modes simultaneously on a Serato-enabled deck. If you’re used to juggling cues while triggering Stems or layering performance tools, this feels like a thoughtful addition rather than a gimmick.
For DJs already invested in the Serato ecosystem, expansions like Serato Video remain accessible, and the SYSTEM ONE unlocks Serato DJ Pro itself at no additional cost. That’s an important detail for anyone weighing up hardware/software value.

Internal FX Meets Software FX
RANE’s four internal FX engines – Main FX, Touch FX, Fader FX and Sweep FX – can now be applied to Serato DJ Pro tracks with proper BPM sync. Layering internal effects over Serato’s own software FX creates a pretty deep playground for creative mixing.
Serato’s software FX are also accessible via the Software FX button in the Control Center menu, meaning you’re not forced to choose between hardware or software processing. You can combine them.
In practice, this opens up expressive builds, breakdown transitions, and more performance-driven sets without feeling like you’re fighting the system.

A Real Step Forward for Hybrid DJs
The RANE SYSTEM ONE was already positioned as the world’s first motorised standalone DJ system, combining the tactile feel RANE is known for with modern Engine DJ architecture. Engine OS 4.6.0 strengthens that identity rather than changing it.
Instead of asking DJs to commit to one ecosystem, it invites them to move freely between them. That’s especially relevant in 2026, where sets might include downloaded tracks, streamed exclusives, Serato Stems edits, and quick USB handovers between performers.
Serato DJ Pro 4.0.3 is available now, and Engine DJ 4.6.0 can be downloaded or installed directly from the SYSTEM ONE via built-in Wi-Fi
For DJs who value flexibility as much as feel, the SYSTEM ONE just became a much more compelling centrepiece for the booth.
