Strymon continues to release high-end guitar effects pedals and with their latest Iridium Guitar Amp Modeler & IR Cabinet Pedal, they have not disappointed.
The Iridium offers three iconic amplifiers created by their Matrix Modeling system. These are based on the Fender Deluxe Reverb, Vox AC30 and the Marshall Plexi Super Lead 1959 amps and comes pre-loaded with a collection of premium cabinet IRs from OwnHammer, Celestion, cabIR and Valhallir offering full stereo 24bit 96kHz resolution. You can also load your own IRs using the Strymon Impulse Manager software.
Iridium also includes a hybrid room reverb that combines a 256-millisecond stereo impulse response with their reverb tank algorithm for extended decay and a low-noise JFET front-end preamp that offers 20dB of analogue gain before your guitar tone hits the amp-modelling DSP.
With its stereo-outs the Iridium is primarily designed to be used as a stereo floor-based amp going into either a PA or recording interface, it also has a secondary benefit as a high-end practice tool. As with most of the Strymon pedal range, they have included MIDI and expression pedal control, plus the ability to store up to four amp and cab presets.
