After a dramatic however brief hiatus, it’s been confirmed that the NAMM Show (what might have been Winter NAMM) is returning to Anaheim California in June 2022.
It’s hard to believe it was just January 2020 when over 115,000 visitors descended on the Anaheim Convention Center (and surrounding bars) for the great annual industry pilgrimage. As the proceeding weeks and months unfolded, it became clear that a similar gathering in January 2021 would not be feasible, and news soon followed of the Winter NAMM Show’s cancellation.
Despite a virtual reimagining in 2021, the tradeshow’s future has remained uncertain, but today news has broken that the Show will return to its Anaheim home in June 2022 for what’s being referred to as ‘three days of transformative business opportunities, know-how and connections at once-in-a-lifetime gathering’.
Exactly how the new NAMM Show will play out remains to be seen, but it’s certainly an exciting proposition. Speaking from locked-down Melbourne in September 2021, it’s difficult to imagine a public even on the scale of Winter NAMM 2020 taking place anytime soon, however other parts of the world are at different stages of recovery so hopefully, we’ll all be in a far better position by mid-2022.
The show will be a combined Winter/Summer NAMM, and definitely a date to keep marked on the calendar whether you can physically attend or not. You can check out all the details in the press release available on the NAMM.
We will of course be covering all the news and announcements as best we can. Until then you can revisit the excitement with our NAMM 2020 video playlist and our wrap up of the NAMM 2021 show.
