Universal Audio have recently announced a new family of affordable audio interfaces: The Volt. These audio interfaces get their lineage from UA’s classic Apollo interfaces and analogue gear with a ‘vintage preamp’ mode modelled on their 610 Tube Preamp and the Volt 176, 276 and 476 also have an analogue compressor whose circuitry mimics the UA’s 1176 compressor. With a cool vintage look, easy to use and quality UA are known for, these are sure to be the go-to audio interfaces for home studios big or small. We check out how the Volt’s borrows from UA’s high-end audio solutions legacy.
