Something’s powering up at Ibanez. The Ibanez Dragon Ball Z collaboration is real, the first images are out, and there’s a Japanese-made RG in the mix. We don’t have all the details yet, but there’s enough here to make us look twice.
Goku and Vegeta appear across the graphic guitar and bass models. Elsewhere, Goku and Gohan take flight on the Japanese-made RG. If you grew up watching these characters push past their limits, you can probably see where Ibanez is going with this.
The official collaboration page gives us a closer look. The Japanese RG gets a maple/walnut Super Wizard neck, an Edge tremolo bridge and Gotoh machine heads. A special hard case, certificate of authenticity, strap and picks are part of the package, too.
That puts a little substance behind the artwork. We’ll save the deeper dive for when we have the full Australian picture.
There’s a Dragon Ball Z Tube Screamer, along with a ukulele and a piccolo guitar. The official page also shows a POWERPAD guitar bag, straps, a seven-pick set, a guitar cloth and T-shirts. Apparently, the guitar rack wasn’t enough.
Ibanez connects the project to practice, training and a player’s progress. A fitting theme, although we can’t promise your next practice session will come with a transformation sequence.
The manufacturer’s announcement points to a global rollout from early 2027. What we don’t have confirmed is Australian pricing, local allocation or an arrival date. For now, consider this a first glimpse.
While we wait, our Ibanez lineup coverage and our look at its Brubaker and Loureiro signature guitars cover more of the brand’s recent releases.
