Ibanez 2022 Signature Models for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, George Benson, Nita Strauss and more Unveiled
Ibanez has just released a list of new Signature models for 2022, including new colours, new models, and some old favourites. Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, George Benson, Tom Quayle, Jake Bowen, and Kiko Loureiro all get upgraded models this year, and Nita Strauss gets two signature guitars.
Nita Strauss Models
Nita Strauss has two signature models: the JIVAX2 and the JIVA10L (left-handed). The JIVAX2 has a quilted maple top on an African mahogany body and is finished in the new Ghost finish. The Pandemonium humbucker in the neck, a True Velvet single coil in the middle, and a Pandemonium bridge humbucker are among the DiMarzio pickups included.
Joe Satriani has switched from a Chrome Boy to the new all gold finish JS2GD for 2022, and it looks insane, all glossy and golden. The body is made of alder, while the neck is made of one piece maple. Along with a FRED bridge humbucker and Satch Track single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions, Joe’s DiMarzio pickup choice is a FRED bridge humbucker.
The separate on/off switches for each pickup are the biggest change this year. Everything is gold, including the Jescar EVOgold frets and all of the hardware!
The new Steve Vai PIA3761C for 2022 is finished in Blue Powder. The body is made of alder, with a five-piece maple/walnut neck. In all three spots, Vai’s DiMarzio UtoPIA pickups are used.
For 2022, the new George Benson GBSP10 signature model features a flamed maple top, back, and sides, all lacquered in a rich crimson. It has GB special pickups in both places, as expected.
For 2022, the new Tom Quayle TQMS1 is a T-style guitar with a Gotoh T1802 2-point trem and an AZ Oval CS-Tech one-piece roasted maple neck in Celeste Blue.
It has an alder body with a maple top that is finished in the new Celeste Blue finish, revealing the alder on the back and sides. The neck humbucker is a Seymour Duncan Magic Touch-mini, while the bridge pickup is an Alnico II Pro Custom.
The Jake Bowen JBM999 features a basswood body, maple/walnut neck, with 27 frets! This model features two JBM9999 unique pickups in the neck and bridge positions, an ebony fretboard with a single 12th fret inlay, and a gorgeous Azure Metallic Matte finish.
This year’s Kiko Loureiro features a Transparent Ruby Red finish on an alder body with a flamed maple top. It has DiMarzio KIKO original HSH pickups, a rosewood fretboard with KIKO custom inlay and 24 Jumbo frets, as well as a versatile switching system that includes a five-way blade switch and a push/pull volume control that allows you to access even more pickup combinations.
