Seismic Industries spink0 Brings Ableton Link to Eurorack

Eurorack module creators Seismic Industries have recently released the spink0 –  an open source, DIY eurorack module allows users to sync their eurorack system to other Ableton Link devices.

From the developers:

“The pink SPINK0 is a patchwork from shaduzlabs pink-0, a CLK / RESET generator based on the Rasperry Pi Zero W. His source code is the core of this project. After a lot of tweakin, tuning & changing, a working LINK connection could be established. I then squeezed the PiZero into its new dress, consisting of a set of three PCBs that all sandwich together to form a eurorack module.”

While the design is still a work in progress and operation can be unstable, it is exciting to see developers implementing this versatile sync technology. If nothing else it provides some insight into the future of Ableton Link and the range of its uses.

The module is available as a DIY project or prebuilt, and source files and other details for building it are available at the developer’s site. The fully built module is available to purchase via the Seismic Industries webpage for 280 CHF which is about 380 AUD. As of writing the DIY modules had sold out.
