The Storm King Distortion/Fuzz Pedal by Aguilar is a recent addition to their popular line of micro pedals. This all-analog micro pedal features a wide range of tones from warm, tube-like saturation to aggressive, dirty ripped-speaker tones, and everything in-between.
The SHAPE control gives a wide range of distortion tones in a simple sweep, from an open, flat EQ tone that sounds full and present in the low-end to a fuzzy, aggressive ripped-speaker kind of distortion and everything in between.
The “Kick” button gives a frequency boost for added presence, bite, and volume
The bassist who wants a tube-like saturated tone sweetener for added grit and character and is looking for a pedal that can cover both distortion tones and fuzz tones in a single box.
The micro pedal market is getting a little crowded, but what we do know is that the cream always rises to the top. Aguilar looks to have delivered again with the Storm King and we are sure to see this pedal adorning many bass pedal boards in years to come.
The Storm King is due in Australia in early November. Expect to pay $299.00
