Back in late March this year, we were lucky enough to attend ESP Guitars Australia’s annual ‘ESP on Tour’ showcase held at Manny’s in Fitzroy, Melbourne, where we got the chance to check out and play some of the latest models from the 2018 lineup

Also attending on the night for a special clinic was Mastodon’s guitarist extraordinaire & ESP Signature Artist, Bill Kelliher. We got the chance to witness Bill talking about his signatures models from LTD, the BK-600 and Sparrowhawk. as well as some tips on his method for playing and writing riffs.

The BK-600 guitar is a full thickness EC Eclipse shape loaded with his signature ‘Dissonant Aggressor’ pickups from Lace, and finished in a Military Green Sunburst Satin.

The Sparrowhawk is a shape designed by Bill himself. It has mixtures of classic shapes fused with modern specs, like a Thin-U neck shape and new signature Lace pickups called ‘The Divinators’.

Bill also played a few songs and answered questions from the crowd, mostly about his songwriting and live shows.

After the clinic, the team at ESP Guitars Australia showed off on of their Limited Edition EC-1000’s in Silver Sunburst. Bill liked it so much he took it home, and later also played it on stage!
