Yep, you heard right – Denon have just announced the Prime 4 which is the first 4 channel DJ System that runs completely stand-alone – no need for a laptop running DJ software. This is set to come as a surprise to many, but sure to put a smile on the faces of DJs around the world who’ve long been asking for 4-channel standalone DJ units.
Denon will certainly be turning heads in the DJ community now – the underdog has been taking swings at Pioneer’s stranglehold over the DJ industry for a while, but this time they’ve beaten them to the punch. The controller features Denon DJs digital Prime ecosystem from the SC5000s, but all combined into one unit. The Prime 4 will have four decks of playing audio on the built-in software and features a 10-inch touch display screen located in the centre of the console. Here’s what we know so far.
The controller also comes installed with Engine Prime Music Management, Denon’s software which allows you to import your music collections from iTunes, Serato DJ Pro, Native Instruments Traktor Pro and Rekordbox® allowing you to bring in playlists, folders, cue and loop point information.
