SoundCloud Partners with Native Instruments, Serato, Virtual DJ, DEX3, Mixvibes and Hercules
Integrations will enable DJs to stream and mix SoundCloud’s one-of-a-kind music catalogue through their favorite DJ performance software.
Soundcloud announced overnight that DJs will soon be able to mix and perform by streaming material from SoundCloud’s catalog within DJ software’s including Native Instruments (Traktor), Serato, Virtual DJ, DEX 3, Mixvibes, and Hercules.
Traditionally DJ’s have been limited to digital downloaded music files like MP3 and WAV files, but being able to stream from SoundClouds music catalogue direct to your DJ software of choice will definitely spark a lot of interest, especially as DJ’s will have access mix SoundCloud’s massive music catalogue in real time within these DJ programs. This is huge news because SoundCloud was literally on the verge of being insignificant about a year ago.
According to SoundCloud’s press release, a SoundCloud Go+ subscription is needed to use this integration, regardless of if you already have a Pro or Pro Unlimited account (which many creators and DJs already pay for). If you already pay for a Pro or Pro Unlimited account, adding a SoundCloud Go+ subscription is an additional $4.99 per month.
