Here is a fantastic opportunity for Victoria’s music community to be part of some prized accolades, as entries are now open to the Melbourne Prize for Music 2019 which operates in a three-year cycle, so you won’t want to miss out on this.
Unfortunately for the other Australian states, this is only this is open only for Victorian residents, so now might be a good time as ever to hit the road and move to Victoria!
The Melbourne Prize for Music is inclusive for performers and composers across all genres and is valued at more than $100,000 across four categories, plus a public choice award.
The major prize of $60,000 is being awarded to a musician or group whose work demonstrates the qualities of exceptional musicianship, skill and creativity.
Past winners in the Melbourne Prize for Music include Kutcha Edwards in 2016 (pictured above) with the Outstanding Musicians Award going to Scott Tinkler.
