In the grand symphony of synth history, the microKORG has been a trailblazer, a trendsetter, and a sonic legend for over two decades. Loved by musicians, producers, and tech enthusiasts alike, it’s been one of the best-selling synths of all time. Now, Korg levels up the all-new microKORG MK2. While keeping the essence of the original microKORG – the handy size, the mini keys, the genre-selection dial, and the legendary vocoder – the new microKORG ups the ante with a fresh sound engine, an array of usable programs, and a large 2.8-inch colour LED screen – and yes, It still runs on batteries.
New additions to the new microKORG include a vocal processor with harmonizer and hard-tuning functions as well as a loop recorder for creating backing tracks on the fly. With dedicated buttons for record, play/stop, and undo/redo, the loop recorder allows you to overdub in a live performance.
To expand further from the OG microKORG Korg has developed three series of effects, including nine modulation types, six delay and reverb options. The microKORG’s signal is routed through these effects and a two-band parametric EQ, enabling users to craft complete sounds without external processing.
