Are you an Ableton Live user with a smart phone? Have you experimented with using your phone as a controller or instrument? If not, then here’s a fun looking workshop that Melbourne Music Week are hosting this year to give you a crash course in integrating mobile and small portable devices into your setup.

From the press release:

“Ableton Live certified trainer, Matt Ridgway will take participants through techniques and strategies for integrating mobile music-making devices, such as phones/iOS/pocket synths and drum machines into music productions. The session is designed for participants who have a familiarity with using Ableton Live software and are looking at ways to integrate mobile music-making devices into their creative workflow. Participants will learn best-practice strategies in syncing devices and approaches to capitalising on the best parts of both mobile music making and digital audio workstation. There will be an opportunity for participants to participate in an open mobile-device jam at the end of the session.”

The event goes down on Friday 15 November at The Channel, Arts Centre Melbourne. Tickets available here.
