MiniFreak Takes a Leap: Introducing Firmware 2.0 and MiniFreak V 2.0

Arturia’s relentless pursuit of pushing the boundaries of sonic exploration, today unveils the latest evolution of Minifreak with the new firmware 2.0 and Minifreak V 2.0. This transformative update looks set to elevate its sound design possibilities with 2 new sound engines, new FX, customizable LFO’s and some workflow enhancements.

New Engine: Wavetable

At the heart of this update lies the introduction of the Wavetable Engine, sure to please many synth heads. With 32 wavetables and 64 new patches, MiniFreak users can now use the powerful engine, available exclusively for Oscillator 1.

New FX: Super Unison

This is a chorus-type effect that has the ability to transform a simple patch into a Supersaw monster. By stacking up to 6 copies of a sound on top of a dry signal, Super Unison FX delivers an unmistakable width.

Enhanced Custom LFO: Precision in Modulation

More modulation is never enough so the Enhanced Custom LFO now allows you to decide whether the LFO rate corresponds to a single step or the entire Shaper curve. This precision enables more nuanced, evolving, and expressive modulations, ensuring sonic creations are unique and original.

Favorites Panel for Hardware Users

New workflow additions simplify your process by adding a Favorites Panel for hardware users. Save up to 64 of your favorite presets and access them effortlessly. This lets you enter your most used patches to your Favorites Panel key combination, store a patch with ease, and recall it with a button press.

Sound Store for MiniFreak V

For software aficionados, MiniFreak V introduces a brand-new Sound Store. Explore two paid banks, each boasting 64 meticulously crafted patches, and three free banks with 32 patches at launch. Elevate your sonic palette and explore a wealth of possibilities at your fingertips.

And More…

The MiniFreak update also includes:

  • Macro Edit Mode Enhancements: Enjoy greater real-time control over modulation amounts.
  • Osc Freerun OFF: Now applies to Bass, Harm, and SawX for added flexibility.
  • Clock Send and Transport Send: Hardware users can toggle these features on and off, enhancing overall control.
  • Instrument Volume Control: MIDI CC7 now allows users to take command of the instrument’s volume effortlessly.
