MODAL Electronics has just announced the appointment of CMI Music & Audio as their Australian distributor. This is awesome news for those who’ve been following the progress of MODAL, and we’re super excited to get our hands on MODAL’s innovative SKULPT and the new CRAFT Synth 2.0, which will be the first synths distributed by CMI Music & Audio to the Australian Market.
The UK-based manufacturer MODAL Electronics began in 2000 established by synth enthusiast and current CEO Philip Taysom. MODAL set about to build their dream polyphonic synth and in 2014 released MODAL 002 — the first analogue/digital hybrid polysynth to have been designed, developed, and manufactured in the UK for over four decades.

SKULPT, is a 4 voice virtual analogue synthesiser with 8 oscillators per voice, each with 2 selectable waveforms. Users can achieve FM and PWM, as well as apply ring modulation. Additionally, it features duophonic and polyphonic modes, as well as unison/spread for detuning all of its 32 oscillators.
The CRAFT Synth 2.0 is a Monophonic wavetable synthesiser with 40 morphable waveforms, 16 oscillator modifiers, built in sequenced arpeggiator and much more.
