MS-X Analogue Synth: An Extreme Korg Monotron Mod

When KORG released the Monotron, a tiny monophonic synthesiser that looked like an old cassette tape, it was a synth that despite its size it punched well above its weight. With the embedded 12dB/oct lowpass filter of the MS-10/20 analogue synth., this was certainly a stroke of genius by KORG and offers the musicality of its bigger siblings.

Move forward  a few years and we now have a full monophonic analogue synthesizer built from a KORG Monotron called the MS-X by musician & instrument developer Far Beyond Perception. It offers all the classic controls for the VCO, VCF, ADSR, VCA… but there is one challenge however; this is DIY project that is not recommended for beginners but for the very experienced who are adept to wielding solder irons.
