NAMM 2020 – KORG Announce NC-Q1 Smart Noise Cancelling DJ Headphones

If you’ve been to an airport in the last 2 years, you’ve surely noticed noise-cancelling headphones are the new go-to solution for air travel. But what about noise-cancelling for DJing?  Well listen up y’all – ahead of the upcoming NAMM show Korg have announced a product that DJs probably never knew they needed – a pair of DJ headphones promising to protect your hearing when DJing in loud music venues. Bloody genius.

Korg’s state-of-the-art Active Noise Cancelling system (ANC) is the new tech behind the NC-Q1, that allows DJs to monitor at lower volumes and hear the room sound at the same time, without the need to adjust your headphone position on your head.

Hearing damage can be a serious costly side effect of performing live music, and the solution is usually to wear earplugs. However; for DJs, it’s common to see DJs wearing headphones with one ear cup on, and one-off, to monitor the headphone cue, and the room levels simultaneously which make wearing earplugs difficult. Korg may have given us the perfect solution to avoid long term damage – and yes, before you ask, they also feature the usual run of Bluetooth features for smartphone compatibility outside of the club. We look forward to hearing these.
