Kinetic Toys from Native Instruments...for something a little bit different!
Every Christmas for a few years now, Native Instruments has given away a plugin for all to use. In December 2016, that plugin was Kinetic Treats which introduced something a little bit different from NI, with regard to content and its interface.
Fast forward to today, and NI have announced Kinetic Toys which expands on the concepts and sounds introduced in Kinetic Treats.
Kinetic Toys comes from the youthful mind of sound designer Jeremiah Savage. For over a year, Jeremiah scoured shops and markets (and his own attic… ) for the sounds and toys of his childhood, discovering a few new ones along the way. He then handpicked the best sounds and added synthetic layers, to create the 35 multi-layered sound sets of Kinetic Toys.
In the video below, Jim Stout from ADSR Sounds gives us a tour of the sounds available in Kinetic Treats, and how production-ready they are, especially if you’re creating soundtracks or movie effects.
But that’s not to say you can’t use Kinetic Toys to make expressive music – just check out the following video from DDS Productions, where he uses Maschine Studio to create a mid-tempo track.
Kinetic Toys is available now directly from the Native Instruments website.
