UA Apollo X

Apollo X has landed.

Universal Audio have today announced the launch of their new range of Thunderbolt 3 Rackmount Audio Interfaces. The latest generation of UA audio interfaces deliver best-in-class sound with the tone, feel, and flow of analog recording, powerful realtime UAD Plug-In processing and Unison mic preamp technology, letting you record at near-zero latency through the full range of UAD plug-ins from Fender, Neve, Manley, SSL, API, and more. With the addition of new Apollo X Thunderbolt 3 rackmount interfaces, Universal Audio provides an unparalleled recording, mixing, and mastering platform to bedroom producers, project studio owners, and professional engineers alike.

Let’s get into a bit more detail for you…

There are four new models in the Apollo X Range, the x6, x8, x8p and the x16. These all share the new UAD HEXA Core Processing with six DSP chips and 50% more UAD plug-in processing power than previous Apollos. This allows for tracking through UAD plug-ins at near-zero latency, regardless of audio buffer size. All models also include new Elite-Class world-beating A/D and D/A Conversion and Surround Sound* compatibility along with Unison™ Technology Preamps on the x6, x8 and x8p models. As is the case with all Universal Audio products this new range has been designed to cater for a variety of applications, and are due in Australia late September, early October 2018. So let’s dive in deeper and give you the ins and outs on each new Apollo X model.
