At the end of this month, ESP Australia are hosting events in Melbourne and Sydney with two special guests from ESP Japan and a number of one-off guitars from the famous Japanese ESP custom shop. Mune Nagahama and Joji Handa will join the ESP Australia team to run punters through the history of ESP, the master craftsmenship of the custom shop guitars and processes involved.
The Tokyo ESP Custom Shop is a rarity amongst the larger guitar manufacturers — ‘custom shop’ is not just a product line name like it is with certain other brands — true to its name, the Custom Shop is a fully-fledged workshop for building extremely high-end one-off guitars for the most demanding customers. That might be a hot-rodded version of an existing model, or a completely custom-designed build with a body, headstock, neck and hardware of your choice. The Custom Shop’s also become famous for their jaw-droppingly incredible paint and detail work:
