Sequential will soon be releasing the Prophet XL Synthesiser, a 76-key version of the Prophet X Synthesiser with a 32-voice mode and some other new features!
At this year’s Superbooth 2018, Sequential (formerly Dave Smith Instruments) announced the release of the new Prophet X, a new hybrid Synthesiser that combines sample manipulation and high-quality digital synthesis. Now, there has been an announcement through Sound On Sound that was online/offline again about a new Prophet XL Synthesiser which will be a 76-key version of the Prophet X Synthesiser with a 32-voice mode. It bypasses the main filter section (which only has 16 filters) but uses two for those filters paraphonically.
Also in the article, they wrote that the 32-voice mode and some other features will be a free update for existing Prophet X owners. This looks like a great update for musicians who would love to play the sample-based content of the Prophet X/XL.
