For users of Universal Audio’s UAD powered plugin platform, fewer things are more exciting than software updates. Well maybe that’s a stretch, but UAD updates are always noteworthy, typically introducing new and often unique hardware emulations as well as bug fixes and improvements.
Version 9.11 released today is no exception and features two new Unison-enabled hardware emulations as well as Mac OS 10.15 Catalina compatibility. The two new hardware models are:
“The dominant player in chart-topping pop, hip-hop, and R&B productions, Avalon’s flagship VT-737 channel strip is the best-selling standalone channel strip ever made. From Jay-Z and Dr. Dre to Babyface and Beyonce to Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones, the VT-737 delivers consistently polished results, with radio-ready gloss and detail.
Exclusively for UAD hardware and UA Audio Interfaces, and fully endorsed by Avalon Design, the Avalon VT-737 Tube Channel Strip plug-in captures the entire hit-making essence of the channel strip that defined the sound of modern music.”
“Introduced in 1994, the VH4 amplifier was Diezel’s maiden voyage — a 100-watt beast that dropped jaws with articulate cleans, dynamic distortion, and frothy high-gain tones. Still a modern tone giant 25 years after its release, the Diezel VH4 is ubiquitous in heavy rock and metal productions, used by Tool, Metallica, and tons more.
Developed by Brainworx, and officially endorsed by legendary amp builder Peter Diezel, the Diezel VH4 plug-in masterfully emulates this four KT77-equipped 100-watt beast, for UAD hardware and UA Audio Interfaces.”
Also new in UAD 9.11 is Sonnox Oxford SuprEsser DS for precise linear-phase de-essing with near-zero latency, and Antares Auto-Tune Realtime Access which is a free promotional plug-in included with select UA Audio Interfaces.
