After previously only being included with the hardware instrument, Arturia has announced that the software version of their recently released MiniFreak synthesiser is now accessible as a standalone virtual instrument plug-in.
MiniFreak V is a mirror image of the hardware, featuring the same dual synthesis engine, modelled analogue filter, and stereo effects. These features work together to produce a sound that Arturia claims is identical to the sound of the actual instrument.
The plug-in has six voices, and its two oscillators offer a variety of waveshapes, just like its hardware counterpart. The modelled filter has low-, band-, and high-pass modes, and the effects section has three separate effects slots that can be set up as inserts or sends and offers users a selection of ten different built-in effects processors.
Additionally, a variety of performance and sequencing capabilities are available. The instrument features extensive built-in sequencer and arpeggiator functions, as well as separate or combined Chord and Scale playing modes, providing a simple and enjoyable way to experiment with new musical ideas.
Upon its original launch, the MiniFreak V has since received improvements to its UX/GUI as well as a new ‘+’ feature in the modulation matrix, so knobs can be assigned faster
For new and existing customers, Arturia is celebrating the launch with a number of other special introductory offers. These deals are available on the instrument alone or in combination with the company’s V Collection 9 software suite. The deals are valid through February 2, 2023. The Arturia website contains more information.
