Since they were founded in 2019, Baby Audio has released a free plug-in every year, offering a single-purpose tool with features from its premium plug-in range. Pitch Drift, as the name suggests introduces pitch fluctuations into a signal.
The effect makes use of the company’s Super VHS plug-Drift in’s algorithm, which has a range from subtle instabilities that aim to introduce some natural fluctuation effects to overt drifting that causes sources to sound noticeably out of tune. The plug-in has a straightforward GUI, with just one Amount slider to control how much drift is applied. The speed of the effect can then be adjusted by users by moving their mouse over a main display screen.
Pitch Drift is supported on Windows and Mac systems, and is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
