Sampling is the technique of reusing pieces of audio (melody, beats, voice or other pieces of music) and use them to create new musical ideas. It’s a technique that has been an integral part of electronic music production, shaping many genres of music from Hip Hop to House. Sampling has always been a powerful feature of Native Instruments’ Maschine series and championed by the beat-making community. The new Maschine+ allows stand-alone sampling without the need for a computer.
In this video, we sample a vinyl record directly into Maschine+, chop it up, and lay it down to create a new beat from scratch.
