Intellijel Announce First Semi-Modular Desktop Synth Cascadia

Canadian Eurorack legends Intellijel have announced their first stand-alone semi-modular desktop synth, Cascadia. Despite taking everyone for a ride earlier this month they played an April fool’s joke by seemingly revealing Cascadia as a gigantic 64HP mult.

Intellijel have an incredible collection of eurorack modules and accessories, with Cascadia drawing on their expertise and knowledge, somewhat following the footsteps of their classic module, Atlantis, although the Cascadia is way more with 2 oscillators, 2 filters, 2 envelope generators, wave folder, ring mod, noise, envelope follower, sample+hold, LFO with multiple outputs and much more!  The semi-modular route is a natural evolution for a modular synth brand and one many eurorack companies might be considering or already have plans for. With a design similar to their popular palette cases, Cascadia is packed full of features. We’re looking forward to trying one out!

Here’s what Intellijel are saying:

A massive semi-modular system in a small case with the footprint of a laptop. Cascadia has MIDI in/out/thru/USB, Eurorack compatible signal levels and pro-level audio I/O to interface with the rest of your studio or get your studio started.

Cascadia is packed with a mix of classic East and West Coast synthesizer blocks. Normalized connections let you get straight to the sounds inside. Or, let your imagination run wild and patch any of the modules together however you choose. Make small tweaks to the architecture, or re-route the entire synth to your liking—the choice is yours!
