Italy’s IK Multimedia have announced new additions to their UNO synth line up with the UNO Synth Pro and the UNO Synth Pro Desktop. The UNO Synth Pro is a 37 key paraphonic synthesizer with three analogue oscillators, a dual filter system, multiple envelops and LFO’s plus a 16-slot mod matrix housed within a rugged metal chassis. The UNO Synth Pro Desktop packs the same sound engine and feature set into smaller desktop unit with a familiar form factor reminiscent of their original UNO synth.
The three-analogue variable waveshaping oscillators promise to offer harmonically complex tones with pulse-width modulation, frequency modulation, ring modulation and white noise generator.
The filter is a dual filter design with a 2-pole multimode filter and a 2/4 pole low-pass filter with self-oscillation. These filters can be used in a series of parallel configurations and it’s possible to invert the phase for multiple filter mode possibilities.
If you’re looking to add a little shoeshine to your sound, the UNO Synth Pro features 4 effect slots with an analog overdrive circuit from the original UNO Synth, plus three new custom-designed digital effects: modulation, delay and reverb. You can even route external hardware gear through these effects which is a nice touch.
