Moog Music has officially announced that production of the Subsequent 25 synthesizer will come to an end on March 13, 2025. As a successor to the Sub Phatty, the Subsequent 25 refined Moog’s classic analog sound while adding modern connectivity and performance features.
The Subsequent 25 made a name for itself by combining Moog’s signature warmth, punchy bass, and expressive lead sounds in a compact form factor. It became a go-to choice for musicians looking for hands-on analog synthesis with modern conveniences like MIDI automation and parameter recall.
With its two-note paraphonic capability, deep bass, and dynamic modulation, the Subsequent 25 carried forward Moog’s tradition of rich, organic synthesis. The instrument found a home in studios and live setups alike, offering big sound in a small package.
While production is winding down, Moog has assured users that support for the Subsequent 25 will remain in place. This includes repairs, maintenance, and parts availability, ensuring that existing units continue to operate at their best for years to come.
For those looking for an alternative, Moog will continue producing the Subsequent 37, offering expanded features, a larger keybed, and enhanced modulation options.
If you’ve been considering adding a Subsequent 25 to your setup, now is the time. Remaining units will be available through Moog’s global dealer network while supplies last.
