NAMM 2020: Presonus Drop Next Gen StudioLive ARc Mixer/Recorder Series

PreSonus start 2020 with the release of a family of 3 new small format consoles, with the ability to multitrack record via the USB-C compatible audio interface or the main stereo mix direct to SD card. The new StudioLive AR8c, AR12c and AR16c mixers are clearly geared towards to modern users but with that old school analogue appeal.

PreSonus’s StudioLive hybrid family of mixers have been around for a while and now with the addition of the new ARc Series, users can enjoy all the updated features of a hybrid mixer in 2020. Aside from the built in USB-C audio interface in each of the mixers (ranging from 8/4, 12/4 and 16/4 of record/playback depending on the mixer) which record up to 24-bit/96kHz, the new mixers also feature freshly designed analogue-circuits boasting higher headroom and PreSonus’s XMAX Class A mic pre amps, not to mention updated digital effects processing and the latest BlueTooth 5.0 stream technology. Being rounded out with the included software bundle of PreSonus’ own Studio One Artist DAW and Studio Magic Plug-In Suite, users can get to recording and mixing right away.

Being offered in a variety of sizes, the StudioLive AR8c, AR12c and AR16c cover all the bases from recording just a couple of sound sources through to a small band if required. With their intuitive layout and feature set ticking just the right amount of boxes they are likely to find themselves at home with traditional analogue users and new-school music and content creators alike.
