NAMM 2024: Vox Release Valvenergy 2nd Generation Effect Pedals

VOX just keep on giving and with their new Valvenergy 2nd generation effect pedals, they have hit the ball out of the park! The original Valvenergy series had been well received as a pedal series that delivered the natural response of a tube amp, and now four new models are added to the lineup that are equipped with the next-generation Nutube tube. The new pedals include a booster (Power Burst), a tube compressor (Smooth Impact), an overdrive (Fuel Injector), and a graphic equalizer (Tone Sculptor).

POWER BURST
Unleash the Resilience of Sound:
A Simple Booster with 1 Knob and 3 Modes
The POWER BURST is a simple booster with one knob and three modes, providing a natural sense of compression and saturation. While maintaining a natural tone, it goes beyond merely increasing volume.

CONTROLS:
BOOST Knob: Adjusts the amount of boost. Turning it to the right adds the distinctive saturation and compression typical of vacuum tubes.
Mini Switch: Offers three modes based on personal preference.
TREBLE: Emphasizes the high frequencies, suitable for situations where you want to highlight the treble.
NATURAL: Natural tube sound mode, serving as the standard mode.
MIDDLE: Emphasizes the mid-range frequencies, ideal for producing a thick sound or during solo performances.

The First Vacuum Tube Compressor in Pedal Form
SMOOTH IMPACT is a genuine vacuum tube compressor that utilizes the gain variation resulting from fluctuations in Nutube’s power supply voltage. It marks the debut of a pedal-type vacuum tube compressor, offering a distinct, natural playing feel unlike compressors of other types

CONTROLS:
TUBE GAIN: Adjusts the amount of signal sent to Nutube. As you turn it, distortion from Nutube is gradually introduced.
COMP: Controls the compression level. It allows you to adjust the texture of compression through interaction with TUBE GAIN.
OUTPUT: Adjusts the output volume.
Mini Switch: Offers three modes that you can choose based on your preference and the situation.
VTG (Vintage): This mode has a fast attack time and a slow release time. Compression kicks in from the attack, making it the most intensely compressed mode. It delivers the typical sound of a compressed guitar. NAT (Natural): With a slow attack time and a fast release time, this setting preserves the attack feel while providing compression, resulting in a more natural nuance.
SAG (Sagging): This mode provides a natural compression and distortion, similar to what you experience when playing a tube power amp. It’s ideal for adding a tube amp-like quality to solid-state amps or digital equipment. 

FUEL INJECTOR
An Overdrive with a Distinct Tube-like Response and Rich Harmonics,
Featuring Organic Distortion
FUEL INJECTOR offers a distinctive overdrive with clean characteristics, rich harmonics, and a natural sense of compression and bite. Developed by amp manufacturer VOX, this overdrive pedal stands out for its amp-like distortion, in contrast to typical pedal distortions

CONTROLS:
DRIVE: Adjusts the amount of distortion.
TONE: Adjusts the high-frequency content.
LEVEL: Controls the output volume.
Switch: Allows you to choose between two modes.
NATURAL: The fundamental mode.
FAT: Delivers a thicker tone, ideal when combined with single-coil pickups. 

TONE SCULPTOR
Equipped with Nutube in the preamp section,
a graphic equalizer that adds musical distortion.A graphic equalizer that allows you to set the frequency range and Q width tailored for guitar tone shaping. Raising the level with Nutube in the preamp section adds distinctive tube harmonics and compression.

CONTROLS:
100Hz to 5.6kHz: ±10dB adjustment for each
LEVEL: ±12dB adjustment of the output volume.
