NAMM 2024: ESP Drops New 2024 Guitar and Bass Models and They Look Amazing!

There is a killer batch of new ESP/LTD guitars and basses that have just dropped and are being shown at Namm 2024. Hold your breath as some of these guitars and basses are on their way to Australia, and they include signature series models for Bill Kelliher, George Lynch and Gary Holt just to name a few. Let’s start with the Gary Holt GH-SV! This guitar makes use of the coveted ESP SV shape, with one side of the V-shape more elongated than the other. The body’s top and back are flat, with nothing to get in the way. The Black finish of this guitar is accentuated by multi-ply red binding on the body, red binding on the neck and headstock, red pickup covers, and a special red scripted LTD logo. Components on the GH-SV include a double-locking Floyd Rose 1000 tremolo system, Grover tuners, and a set of direct-mount active pickups including the EMG 89R (neck), with reversed coils to keep the single coil side closer to the neck to capture the sweet spot and a push-pull control to split the pickup, and an aggressive EMG 81 in the bridge position. Next up is the Bill Kelliher LTD Signature Series BK-600 guitar. Based on the single-cutaway ESP Eclipse shape, the latest BK-600 is finished in a Vintage Silver Sunburst finish and multi-ply binding on the body and headstock. This guitar offers traditional full-body thickness and no waist cut and is designed to provide the wide range of tones needed for Mastodon’s music. Another update on the BK-600 is the set of Bill’s signature Mojotone Hellbender humbucker pickups. Both the bridge and neck pickups may be split with push-pull controls on the volume and tone knobs. Few guitarists around the world have the respect of Javier Reyes, part of the acclaimed instrumental progressive metal trio Animals as Leaders as well as other musical endeavors Mestis and TRAM. Javier is well known for his innovative, emotive playing style, and he turns to extended-range guitars to accomplish his uniquely innovative compositions and performances. His LTD JRV-8 is a guitar unlike any other. At first glance, it has elements of design that make it seem like a traditional guitar shape, but once you take a closer look, you realize the enormity of its power. The JRV-8 is an 8-string guitar with a 27” baritone scale. Typical tuning on a guitar like this is F#-B-E-A-D-G-B-E, but the JRV-8 is meant to inspire creativity and can flexibly handle alternative tunings as needed. It’s also one of the new production guitars to include an 8-string double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo. Based on the well-known military camouflage pattern, the EC-1000 Woodland Camo Satin has complementary black 1-ply binding and matching black hardware and offers set-thru construction at a comfortable 24.75” scale. Its three-piece mahogany neck offers a Macassar ebony fingerboard with white pearloid ESP flag inlays and 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets. Components on this guitar include a TonePros locking TOM bridge and tailpiece, and LTD locking tuners. Its pickups are a set of Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers (alnico in the neck position, ceramic in the bridge), with a push-pull control to activate each pickup’s second voicing The M-1000 Candy Apple Red Satin has a comfortable alder body, and a reverse headstock for excellent string tension even when down-tuned. Its Macassar ebony fingerboard has black binding, 24 extra-jumbo stainless steel frets, and offset mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Components on the M-1000 Candy Apple Red Satin include a Floyd Rose 1000SE bridge with stainless steel screws, Grover tuners, and a set of direct-mount Fishman Fluence Modern Humbuckers (alnico in the neck position, ceramic in the bridge), with push-pull control to activate each pickup’s second voicing.
