If you find yourself in need of an extension of your ins and outs to accommodate all those synths lying around, then Arturia has something in store just for that: the AudioFuse X8 series. These units plug into any ADAT interface and provide eight line-level inputs and outputs easily managed from the front panel.
With AudioFuse, Arturia ventured into the world of high-quality audio interfaces in 2014. First there was the original AudioFuse. While being hailed for its small size, versatility, and sound quality, it soon was joined by the AudioFuse Studio and AudioFuse 8Pre, each one upping the amount of connectivity options and features. AudioFuse 16RIG has been recently announced, with more features and advanced capabilities for both professional and home studios.
This is ideal for expanding your setup. It offers you eight line-level analog inputs for more gear to easily get attached. Select 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, or 96kHz for conversion at an optimal analog to digital rate. If the pad feature is used, a pad is inserted in each channel to avoid clipping. Using the VU Meter gives real-time visual feedback, and the link feature controls several adjacent channels simultaneously. Plus, the user can sync all connected devices through a word clock input and termination switch.
The AudioFuse X8 OUT provides more options for line outputs. It carries eight line-level DC-coupled analog outs for robust connections. Dual ADAT in connectivity lets you use eight channels at higher sample rates. Enjoy jitterless digital-to-analog conversion by locking to your incoming word clock for supreme accuracy. Select your source clock to match the desired quality of AD/DA conversion and SMUX mode in up to 96 kHz ADAT SMUX to get total flexibility.
I can see the X8 In being a great option for connecting eight extra mono synths to your audio interface and having your gear always hooked up and ready to record at any moment. This setup makes capturing those spontaneous moments much easier. You could also use the AudioFuse X8 IN as your master clock to synchronize all your gear. This guarantees that recording sessions will be smooth and coherent, allowing you actually to do what you do best without a second thought.
With the X8 Out, expanding your monitoring environment is much more accessible by connecting extra speakers using the AudioFuse X8 OUT. It provides several parallel monitoring possibilities, making mixing and mastering considerably more flexible. You will be able to more easily manage complex audio workflows and route your sound directly through your outboard effects. This makes complex setups in production not so much of a challenge.
