Just about any environment can be a creative and musical playground. In continuation of our Office Beats video where we took to the office sampling staplers, folder drops, toaster pops, hand dryers and more, we thought it’d be fun to take this concept to the great outdoors. Amassing our samples from lush stereo recordings of the sounds of nature and blending them with short, sharp and varied sounds of both nature and the local playground. Thus us dubbing this next installment “Nature Meets Playground Beats”.
This time, instead of using the Tascam DR-05X, we opted for its bigger brother the DR-40X, with which we were able to experiment with X/Y, A/B and mono mic configurations. Post recording processing and mashup duties were taken care of by a Native Instruments Maschine MK3. Check it all out in the video below.
