Native Instruments Quietly Announce New Komplete Audio 6 MK2 Interface

Initially released back in 2011, the Komplete Audio 6 has been a rock-solid companion in many people’s studios. Now 8 years later, it’s the latest piece of kit from the Native Instruments back-catalogue to receive the refresh treatment. The MKII unit features everything that made the original so popular, including a powerful software package along with a few extra goodies.

At a glance, the KA6 shares the same design language featured on the entry-level Audio 1 and Audio 2 interfaces released earlier this year, with its snazzy matte-black enclosure, large monitoring knob and LED VU meter’s.

On the front, there are 2 combo XLR/ jack inputs with phantom power and gain control plus direct monitoring with an input/host mix knob so you can hear playback while recording. On the back, there are 4 DC coupled jack outputs, capable of the control voltage output of -/+ 2V so you can control external synth modules (Eurorack peeps I see you) alongside a stereo SPDIF output and a MIDI input and output. There’s a large monitoring knob on the top with input and output LED VU meters.

192Khz/24bit conversion gives you top-notch audio quality and there’s a healthy amount I/O here to satisfy the needs of many musicians and producers. The inclusion of dual-headphone jack outputs on the front makes it ideal for collaborations on stage or in the studio and NI have doubled the output power, useful for loud scenarios or high-impedance headphones.
