Source Audio, makers of some of our favourite pedals here at Noisegate, have long had MIDI options for accessing their presets and CC messages on their pedals. The regular-size Source Audio pedals such as the Ventris, EQ2, Collider and Nemesis all had numerous presets that are easily accessible via MIDI using the regular 5-pin MIDI connection. However, for the smaller format One Series pedals such as the C4, Atlas and LA Lady, MIDI is only accessible via USB or alternatively using the Source Audio Hub, which enabled access to presets, albeit in a less direct manner. It was really only usable with Source pedals and it took up critical space on your pedalboard.
It is with welcome excitement that we heard that Source Audio was releasing a little adapter enabling 5-pin MIDI access from any MIDI controller directly into the smaller form-factor One Series pedals using the TRS control input on the back of the pedals. This now makes accessing presets a breeze, but it also means sending CC messages for more intricate control of your Source pedals is simple too! Choose the MIDI channel you want using the Neuro Hub desktop or phone app, and you’re off! Control gain settings, sweep through filters, utilise different compression ratios for different guitars and so much more, all within these very compact pedals. Best of all, this little adapter requires no power (it will be powered by the unit itself) and is tiny so can be tucked under your pedalboard!
Available now from Source Audio dealers everywhere. Unlock the power of your Source Pedals using MIDI today!
